Ratan Tata leading the Tata Group in the 21st century
Case Study 5 Ratan Tata leading the Tata Group in the 21st century
I could read whole pages about
Ratan Tata thanks to professor extend our due day to submit this assignment.
This case was really good because this is deeply concerning financial matters
which I like to study.
Question 1
Ratan Tata’s impact can be attributed to
one individual such as executive team, employees, and citizens. He made a
speech for executives and changes his company. He doesn’t like “over
everybody’s dead bodies” and he is philanthropist and environmentalist. He is
also keen to globalize company and good decision maker as exemplar of risk taker.
He even seems to be deserved as president. His impact influences a lot of
aspects of business because his company has various categories.
He is also excellent as leader because
he said “Rather than telling them(executives) what to do, he(Ratan Tata) asked
them what they liked to do and how they would advance that(goal). It’s a very
empowering form of leadership, rather than a directive form of leadership”.
Question2
He needs to reduce cost and implement
sale of bulk by using their financial company, Tata Sons. Their obsolete
infrastructure is needless and their conglomerate is costly. He sharps his
company by their financial techniques. He think “the debt obligations could be
met though the cash flows generated by various group companies and proceeds
from stake sales by the holding company Tata Sons.”
Question3
He did a lot of mergers and acquisitions
but he faced controversies risks. He is good at making relationship with
government. In case of West Bengal, he
could not do that. However, basically, he succeeds in M&A business. He said
“You can be risk-averse and take no risks, in which case you will have a
certain trajectory in terms of your growth.
thank you soooooooooo much
