Information system problems
Chapter #6 List and describe three main capabilities
or tools of DBMS.
I
would like to show three main capabilities of DBMS definitions. The system has
a data definition capability to specify the structure of the content of the
database. This capability would create database tables and define the
characteristics of the fields in each table.
A
data dictionary would store definitions of data elements, and their
characteristics, in the database. The data dictionary may capture additional
information, such as usage, ownership, authorization, security, and the
individuals, business functions, programs, and reports that use each data
element.
A data manipulation language, such as SQL, is
easy to add, change, delete, and retrieve the data in the database.
Chapter #7 what has made the Google search engine so
successful? Discuss.
The biggest reason for Google's
success is that they provide the best search results for their users. Actually,
their search engine is frequently used by various kinds of web sites. The reason why many people believe the
quality of function is they are constantly updating their search algorithm and ensure
that when you search for something you will get the best and most relevant
results.
Chapter #8 what is a digital certificate? How does
it work? Explain.
This
is a kind of security barrier. A digital certificate is an attachment to an
electronic message used for security purposes. The most common use of a digital
certificate is to verify that a user sending a message is who he or she claims
to be, and to provide the receiver with the means to encode a reply.
People
wishing to send an encrypted message applies for a digital certificate from a
Certificate Authority (CA). The CA issues an encrypted digital certificate
containing the applicant's public key and a variety of other identification
information. The CA makes its own public key readily available through print
publicity or perhaps on the Internet.
The
recipient of an encrypted message uses the CA's public key to decode the
digital certificate attached to the message, verifies it as issued by the CA
and then obtains the sender's public key and identification information held
within the certificate. With this information, the recipient can send an
encrypted reply.
Chapter #9 Identify five benefits of customer
relationship management systems.
There are 5 benefits of customer
relationship management systems such as improved customer experience, focused
marketing efforts, automated analytics and reporting, better coordination and cooperation,
more administrative support.
At
first, I would like to show improved customer experience. I think this is
really efficient method to make a relationship with customers without
frustration. The concrete example is that a customer relationship management
system will enable us to quickly identify customers, address their initial
needs and recommend additional products or services that match their
profile. It gives staff the ability to
recognize who they’re dealing with from the very beginning, making them more
efficient and more productive. Customers could enjoy better customer service.
The
second one is about focused marketing efforts. This is a way of finding a most
reasonable and efficient methods. CRM solutions provide us with a complete
picture of sales pipeline, as well as our existing customers. It means we can
identify and target individuals with the greatest potential for future sales.
Rather than taking the mass marketing approach, CRM allows us to focus and
fine-tune your marketing efforts to make those efforts more productive. That
saves us money and efficient, because we aren’t expending resources on
individuals who ultimately won’t become customers.
The
third one is about automated analytics and reporting. Whether your business is
large or small, chances are you don’t have time to track and analyze the buying
habits of every last customer. The beauty
of customer relationship management applications is that they handle that piece
of the marketing puzzle for you. Because your customer and sales information is
housed in one place, you have automatic access to a full range of reports on
which products or services are selling and who’s buying them.
The
fourth one is better coordination and cooperation. When sales, marketing and
customer service share a common CRM platform, they are able to speak the same language
with one another. Rather than being separated by systems functionality or
access to key information, departments across the organization are able to
function more cohesively. Suddenly, they have what they need to work as a
single unit. They know what the goals are and how to attain them. The last one is more administrative support. Even
in sales, there are mundane tasks that simply have to get done. Scheduling
appointments, keeping records up-to-date, tracking follow-ups—all critical
functions in any sales team, but ones that require careful (and tedious)
attention to detail.
Chapter #10 what methods could a portal use to
generate revenue? Which do you think might be most successful, and why?
For
example, there are so many reason that portal devise succeeded. Smart phone is
a lot of function such as maps, games, calendars and so on. Business person and
student use the devise by various types of usages. It’s a communication devise
and also entertainment devise. The camera’s function is really high level
technology. Its quality is almost the same as real cameras. Nowadays, social
media networks are growing and expand. The compatibility of the devise and the
network is remarkable. Many people take a picture by the device and upload and
post on Facebook. The success is not
only the devise functions.
