The difference of each generation working (The way we worked)
My grandfather is over 80 years old. And he lives regularly. He is always very active. He studies a lot and prays to a statue of Buddha at a family Buddhist altar. Almost of all Japanese people have a floor which has Buddhist alter. Anyway, I don’t have confidence to live regularly like my grandfather in my future because he is extremely smart. This is a huge difference from me. I guess there is a reason why he is so smart and he could work well. Do you want to know what make this difference? If you understand this difference, you will be smarter than now. I’d like to introduce the reason.
First, I’d like to make sense of my grandfather’s past. My grandfather’s job is to be an educator. Studying is his working. He is an university professor and high school teacher. He graduated with a master course of Tokyo University. His major is history of the world. He has an experience of the WW2. One time, he was arrested by Malaysian people but I don’t know anything else because he seems not to want to talk about it. It may be painful for him. As a result, his life is very severe and harsh. And I thought that I have to investigate about his generation.
In the WW2, there is no item and food less than now as you know well. Japan is also the same. He had to be part of the army in his teenage years. He lost a lot of friends in the war. I can’t imagine my friend dying. It is so painful but my grandfather always continues to laugh as if he tries to live their life shared by god too. The experience of the war enhances his life or working in a good way. This is the reason why I guess I will not able to live and to work like him.
Comparing that, my generation lifestyle and a way of having conscious about own working is not strict like his generation. I can’t image my fellow die. However, instead of such as WW2, I have an opportunity which my grandfather didn’t have. For example, I can play tennis well and I can commute American college. If he went to go American college in his era, he would be killed by American people. Anyway, at least, I owe the prosperity of my doing to him.
In conclusion, the reason why my generation can work with enjoyment is that my grandfather and his generation worked harder and make foundation of society to make their offspring happy. But my generation is not completely. There is invisible unhappiness like a committing suicide. This is my turn to resolute modern problem and to make my offspring happy.
